DESCRIPTION:Buy a ticket to support the Hallet Oak Gallery’s many free events and scholarships! The Hallet Oak Gallery stays open six days a week and has no entry fees unless we have a a planned program that requires a nominal fee or if we have a sublease private event. \nMany of our events are free and open to the public. The Gallery is part of the Hallet Oak Foundation which is a public charity for the arts and is a 501 (3) C non-profit.  We do not have paid staff and are all volunteers. Our donations go towards scholarships\, guest speakers\, art teachers\, musicians\, art supplies\, as well as\, to  pay for our air conditioning\, phone\, wi-fi and security and many other operation expenses\, such advertising for our events. There will be a one hour demonstration showing a variety of techniques\, including how to polish broken glass. RSVP by leaving message at 361-217-7030\, so we can have a count of attendees. If you have them\, bring jewelry parts or broken colorful bottles to share with class. We will have free supplies\, as well. This is a first time hands-on jewelry workshop and it’s free. DESCRIPTION:Hallet Oak Gallery Student Show \nSatori Davis\, Award- Winning Artist \nSaturday\, July 28\, 2018 2 PM – 4: PM \n  \nHallet Oak Gallery is pleased to announce a Student Show featuring Satori Davis\, an award-winning pop and realism artist\, on Saturday\, July 28\, 2018. A free opening reception will be held from 2 PM to 4PM. The student art exhibit will be on display through August 25\, 2018. \n  \nSatori Davis\, a black American and 2018 graduate of Hallettsville High School\, promises to dazzle audiences with her artistic diverse style of realism and pop art. Her art teacher\, Staci Powers\, explains\, “Satori is an outstanding and hardworking student\, I look forward to her future.” \n  \nSatori uses real objects\, people\, and animals for subjects to create one-of-a-kind artworks. A true naturalist\, she loves to draw things as they are in real life making her work very life-like. Winning Best-of-Show twice in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Art Contest gave her a scholarship opportunity to attend the Glassell School of Art.  Satori\, also\, won the Patriotic Art Award through the Lavaca Memorial VFW Auxiliary #6382 three times; she won the 2017 Hallet Oak Gallery’s Christmas Art Contest; a 2017 South Central Texas Art League scholarship to attend a portrait workshop; and a 2018 Hallet Oak Foundation scholarship.
