All are welcome to attend the opening and meet David Fuentes in person. \n  \nDavid Fuentes\, born with cerebral palsy on the right side of his body\, his fine art reflects his life as an artist. A graduate of Texas A &M with a BA in Fine Arts\, and the University of Dallas with a Masters in Fine Arts\, has exhibited internationally and is published. Currently he is a professor in the Department of Art at Texas A & M University – Corpus Christi. \n  \nFuentes exhibit will remain on display through March 30th. DESCRIPTION:Buy a ticket to support the Hallet Oak Gallery’s many free events and scholarships! The Hallet Oak Gallery stays open six days a week and has no entry fees unless we have a a planned program that requires a nominal fee or if we have a sublease private event. \nMany of our events are free and open to the public. The Gallery is part of the Hallet Oak Foundation which is a public charity for the arts and is a 501 (3) C non-profit.  We do not have paid staff and are all volunteers. DESCRIPTION:Hallet Oak Gallery Student Show \nSatori Davis\, Award- Winning Artist \nSaturday\, July 28\, 2018 2 PM – 4: PM \n  \nHallet Oak Gallery is pleased to announce a Student Show featuring Satori Davis\, an award-winning pop and realism artist\, on Saturday\, July 28\, 2018. A free opening reception will be held from 2 PM to 4PM. The student art exhibit will be on display through August 25\, 2018. \n  \nSatori Davis\, a black American and 2018 graduate of Hallettsville High School\, promises to dazzle audiences with her artistic diverse style of realism and pop art. Her art teacher\, Staci Powers\, explains\, “Satori is an outstanding and hardworking student\, I look forward to her future.” \n  \nSatori uses real objects\, people\, and animals for subjects to create one-of-a-kind artworks. A true naturalist\, she loves to draw things as they are in real life making her work very life-like. Winning Best-of-Show twice in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Art Contest gave her a scholarship opportunity to attend the Glassell School of Art.  Satori\, also\, won the Patriotic Art Award through the Lavaca Memorial VFW Auxiliary #6382 three times; she won the 2017 Hallet Oak Gallery’s Christmas Art Contest; a 2017 South Central Texas Art League scholarship to attend a portrait workshop; and a 2018 Hallet Oak Foundation scholarship.

DESCRIPTION:Free reception \n2 PM to 4 PM \nSteven Pituch – Art Photographer \nSteve Pituch has been serious about his photography for over 50 years. Specializing in both digital and film\, Pituch enjoys the noir quality of black and white film\, using cameras and lenses that are often more than 30 years old. Pituch’s favorite film format is 4” by 5” sheet film\, which requires a traditional view camera complete with bellows\, focusing cloth\, and viewing ground glass. He prefers to print his own work\, and uses the finest archival materials available. A recently retired engineer\, he looks forward to making photographic portraits of people and animals in a variety of environments. “If I can cause an emotional impact in someone viewing one of my photographs\, which may very well mimic the feelings that I had when I pressed the shutter\, then my efforts in creating that image will have been worthwhile.” \n
