DESCRIPTION:MUSIC NIGHT AT THE HOG \nJD WELLFED & GUESTS: FRANK MARTIN GILLIGAN AND MIKE STROUP\n \nMonday\, May 9\, 2016 7 PM – 9 PM  Doors open at 6:30 PM \nHost JD Wellfed will welcome singer/songwriter Frank Martin Gilligan to the stage for the Music Night at the Hallet Oak Gallery on May 9. Gilligan\, from Beaumont\, was lead singer for the group Mason Dixon. The group had nine straight national number one records on the  Independent Country Music Charts from 1975 – 1993. Mike Stroup is a big city favorite for traditional American music and has teamed up with others to play in various combos as singer\, rhythm and lead guitar\, such as at the April 2016 Fiddler’s Frolics. Wellfed\, singer/songwriter from Sweet Home\, hosts the popular show from 7-9 PM on the second Monday of each month. Tickets are $10\, $8 Seniors. BYOB. Light snacks are provided. DESCRIPTION:Spotlight on the Arts:\n \nBOB BARRERA\, ACRYLIC ARTIST \nOpening Reception: May 14\, 2016\, 2 – 4 pm \n  \nOPEN TO THE PUBLIC: NO ADMISSION FEE \n  \nVersatile painter Bob Barrera is the Hallet Oak Gallery’s Spotlight on the Arts artist for May. Barrera draws on his work in the oil industry as well as many other inspirations for his colorful acrylic images. He does custom design on gun stocks\, builds and paints rustic bars and other furniture\, and creates yard art. In December 2015 he painted the beautiful signs depicting Christkindlmarkt for the Hallet Oak Gallery. Don’t forget to sign up for the early afternoon Lunch and Learn: Barrera will give a demonstration starting at noon\, RSPVP by May 12th. \nBarrera is much loved as the instructor for Strokes with a Sip\, an ongoing class at the gallery.
