DESCRIPTION:MUSIC NIGHT AT THE HOG\nJD Wellfed & Guests: Joe Kirkpatrick and Michael Stroup–Original American Songs\nNovember 9\, 2015 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm\nTickets $10.00 or $8 for seniors \nPopular South Central Texas singer and songwriter JD Wellfed (John Reeves) of Sweet Home will lead the third in a series of musical evenings Monday night at the Hallet Oak Gallery.  Featured guests are Joe Kirkpatrick and Michael Stroup.  Known locally for their Americana music\, Kirkpatrick and Stroup are big city favorites.  The trio will perform original songs and tell the stories behind them.  They will welcome questions and share insights about their music.   \nJoe Kirkpatrick plays lead guitar and sings.  Michael Stroup’s love for traditional American music began early\, learning guitar as he watched two uncles play.  Specializing in folk\, bluegrass\, and class country music\, Stroup now incorporates western swing and old cowboy music in his repertoire.  \nJD Wellfed began writing poems in junior high and songs in his early twenties. “Anything and everything” inspires his music\, which draws on folk\, bluegrass\, and a plethora of other influences.  JD founded the Sweet Home Music Fest\, which gave artists a platform for original music while raising funds for several community causes.   \nMusic Night at the HOG is held every 2nd Monday of the month.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m.   Bring your own drinks.  Ice and cups provided. DESCRIPTION:MICHAEL WINDBERG TO DEMONSTRATE OIL PAINTING TECHNIQUES \n“LUNCH & LEARN” WITH MICHAEL WINDBERG\nHallet Oak Gallery\nNovember 14\, 2015 11:30 am – 1:00 pm \nMichael Windberg\, classical realism oil painter\, will demonstrate his techniques as he creates an original oil painting Saturday\, November 14\, at the Hallet Oak Gallery.  One lucky attendee will receive the painting as a door prize. \nMichael Windberg has been teaching art classes and workshops for the last decade.  He has assisted his father\, Dalhart Windberg\, master painter of light\, color\, and shadow\, and author of “Windberg Oil Painting Technique\,” for 25 years.  Michael is also skilled in restoration of valuable works.  Michael teaches a “Come and Go” painting class at the Gallery on Tuesday evenings 6 – 9 pm.   \nRegistration for the “Lunch and Learn” is 11:00-11:30 a.m. on Saturday.  The fee of $20 includes a boxed lunch.  Persons may preregister by November 12th for $15 for individual tickets or $12 each for two or more tickets. Persons registering after 11:30 are welcome but must bring their own lunches.
