SUMMARY:Music Night at the Hog: JD Wellfed & Guest: Mark Jungers
DESCRIPTION:Music Night at the HOG: JD Wellfed & Mark Jungers\nOriginal American Songs\nOctober 12\, 2015 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm $10 per ticket \nPopular South Central Texas singer and songwriter JD Wellfed (John Reeves) of Sweet Home will lead the first in a series of musical evenings Monday night at the Hallet Oak Gallery. His featured guest will be nationally acclaimed Americana songwriter Mark Jungers. The two will be performing original songs and telling the stories behind them. An interview with Jungers followed by questions and answers will give participants a chance to learn about the music that they are enjoying. The series will be held every 2nd Monday and will feature a different artist each month. \nMark Jungers got his start in the mid 80’s music scene in Austin. His group\, Motel Preachers\, was honored as Best New Band and second place\, Best Country Band\, in New Haven\, Connecticut in the 90’s. He and his current group\, The Whistling Mules\, have released three successful CDs: Black Limousine\, Standing in Your Way\, One For the Crow. Jungers has shared the stage with a variety of popular groups\, including Billy Joe Shaver\, The Derailers\, Gary P. Nunn\, Slaid Cleaves\, Slobberbone\, Sisters Morales\, Roger Creager\, Trout Fishing in America\, Charlie Robison\, and Cooder Graw. \nJD Wellfed started writing poems in junior high and writing songs in his early twenties. He draws inspiration from “anything and everything.” His songs are simple\, of the countryside\, and built on folk\, bluegrass\, and a plethora of influences. His music creates a personal universe with a tragicomic angle on life. JD was also the founder of the Sweet Home Music Fest. The festival provided artists a platform to perform their original music while raising funds for several community causes. \nDoors open at 6:30 p.m. Bring your own drinks. Ice and cups provided. For more information contact jd@thewellfeds.com. \nThe Hallet Oak Gallery is located at the Kahn & Stanzel Building (K&S)\, 115 N. Main Street\, Hallettsville\, TX 77964. Checks and cash accepted for $10 door fee\nMark Jungers photo credit: Steve Circeo \nShare this:\n Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n Facebook\n \n Share on X (Opens in new window)\n X\n \n Share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n LinkedIn\n \n Share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n Pinterest\n More\n Share on Reddit (Opens in new window)\n Reddit\n \n Share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)\n Tumblr\n \n Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window)\n Email\n \n Print (Opens in new window)\n Print
