DESCRIPTION:Spotlight on the Arts featuring: \nFarrah JerNigan\, Art Photographer \nOpening Reception with refreshments: Sat Sept 10\, 2016\, 2 – 4 pm \nOPEN TO THE PUBLIC: NO ADMISSION FEE \nMathematician and award-winning art photographer — Farrah Renee Jernigan is the Hallet Oak Gallery’s Spotlight on the Arts artist for September. Jernigan’s artworks are tranquil\, filled with nature’s lines\, curves\, and fractals. Her work will be on display through Sept. 30th. The public is invited to an opening reception Saturday\, September 10th\, 2 PM to 4 PM. School tours available. Farrah Jernigan\, an experienced technology ambassador\, will also be presenting Safety in Social Media for the monthly Lunch and Learn on September 10th from 11:30 AM to 1 PM. Tickets are $15 for those that RSVP by leaving a voice message at 361-217-7030 by September 8th. Walk-in’s are welcome\, $20\, bring own lunch. DESCRIPTION:SPOTLIGHT ON THE ARTS featuring Kathleen Beebe Durst\, Contemporary Artist  free reception: March 11\, 2017  2:00 PM – 4:00 PM Live Music  by Mike Stroup Trio\nThe Spotlight on the Arts at the Hallet Oak Gallery for March will be featuring the bold and striking contemporary artist\, Kathleen Beebe Durst. Working in a variety of media\, she currently draws on her impressions of nature to create mixed-media collages. Durst’s opening reception will be Saturday\, March 11\, 2017\, 2:00 till 4:00 PM at the Hallet Oak Gallery\, 115 N. Main St.\, Hallettsville\, TX. All are welcome to attend the opening and meet Kathleen Beebe Durst in person. Reception will feature Mike Stroup Trio performing live music.In her twenty-five years as an arts educator with her Fine Arts Degree from Southwest Texas University and Visual Arts Studies from University of Texas at Austin\, her art has been described as fun and imaginative. Her collage and subjects delight parents\, teachers\, all the way from the South Central Texas community to as far north to Illinois where she graduated from an all-girls Dominican High School. All her works are original design and copyrighted. Durst resides in Fayette County.\nDurst’s exhibit will remain on display through March 31st. All Spotlight exhibits are free and open to the public.
