The art is for sale and for viewing at this opening in the historic 1890 Kahn & Stanzel Building designed by famed architect James Riely Gordon\, who built 50 courthouses  Enjoy the views of the 1897 Lavaca County Courthouse built by Eugene T. She attended Sam Houston University receiving a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and is a contemporary artist specializing in unique photographic images only she sees and creates. Pamela Urban explains\, ”I enjoy exploring forests to see what new can be discovered! Having loved drawing and painting at an early age\, art became a passion the moment a camera was placed in my hands.” The continued appreciation for nature developed from fishing with her grandmother to hiking at the Texas State Parks with her pet dog.  Urban has captured a-many stock photographs of plants in their native environment. DESCRIPTION:Free reception \n2 PM to 4 PM \nSteven Pituch – Art Photographer \nSteve Pituch has been serious about his photography for over 50 years. Specializing in both digital and film\, Pituch enjoys the noir quality of black and white film\, using cameras and lenses that are often more than 30 years old. Pituch’s favorite film format is 4” by 5” sheet film\, which requires a traditional view camera complete with bellows\, focusing cloth\, and viewing ground glass. He prefers to print his own work\, and uses the finest archival materials available. DESCRIPTION:SPOTLIGHT ON THE ARTS featuring Kathleen Beebe Durst\, Contemporary Artist  free reception: March 11\, 2017  2:00 PM – 4:00 PM Live Music  by Mike Stroup Trio\nThe Spotlight on the Arts at the Hallet Oak Gallery for March will be featuring the bold and striking contemporary artist\, Kathleen Beebe Durst. Working in a variety of media\, she currently draws on her impressions of nature to create mixed-media collages. Durst’s opening reception will be Saturday\, March 11\, 2017\, 2:00 till 4:00 PM at the Hallet Oak Gallery\, 115 N. Main St.\, Hallettsville\, TX. All are welcome to attend the opening and meet Kathleen Beebe Durst in person. Reception will feature Mike Stroup Trio performing live music.In her twenty-five years as an arts educator with her Fine Arts Degree from Southwest Texas University and Visual Arts Studies from University of Texas at Austin\, her art has been described as fun and imaginative. Her collage and subjects delight parents\, teachers\, all the way from the South Central Texas community to as far north to Illinois where she graduated from an all-girls Dominican High School. All her works are original design and copyrighted. Durst resides in Fayette County.\nDurst’s exhibit will remain on display through March 31st. All Spotlight exhibits are free and open to the public.
