FreeSpotlight on the Arts: Blanche & Roy Cavarretta–Gourd Artists
Wine Tasting–Majek Vineyard and Winery’s top wines
Every Saturday in December 2-6 PM
The Hallet Oak Gallery, Center for the Arts, will feature Spotlight on the Arts and Wine Tastings every Saturday from 2:00 – 6:00 PM. The Spotlight will focus on individual artists, public organizations, and musicians and will be accompanied by wine tasting and food samples of Czech, Polish and German heritage. Proceeds from the tastings help support the Gallery and art in Hallettsville.
The December Spotlight will be on Blanche and Roy Cavarretta, whose gourd art will be on display. Majek Vineyard and Winery will be serving their top wines.
Known for his pen and ink landmark drawings and intricate gourd art, Roy Cavarretta is Lavaca County’s most cherished artist. His work has been featured in Texas Monthly, Texas Highways, Southwest Art, Texas Farm & Home, and Western Art & Architecture. Roy lives in Lavaca County and shares a studio with his wife, Blanche, an artist as well. They tour together to showcase their art.
The Cavarrettas will be in the Gallery Saturday, December 12, to visit with the public. Support the arts and local vineyard by enjoying a wine-tasting and purchasing a bottle of your favorite. View the Cavarrettas’ work as well as the Christmas tree decorated by local student artists.
