Hallet Oak Gallery is pleased to announce veteran outdoor writer Larry Bozka’s presentation ”Lavaca County Legacy – Reflections of the Bohemian Homeland,” as a “Lunch and Learn” on Saturday, August 13, 2016.
A fifth-generation Texan, Larry Bozka has more than 130 state and national writing and photography awards to his credit. Best known for his work in Texas Parks and Wildlife Magazine and Texas Sporting Journal, throughout the past 40 years Bozka has contributed to a broad variety of other publications as well.
In 2008, he was presented the L.A. Wilke Lifetime Achievement Award by the Texas Outdoor Writers Association. The “Wilke Award” is TOWA’s highest honor.
Larry Bozka’s specialty has long been covering the Texas Coast, and in particular, saltwater fishing both inshore and offshore. Fifteen years ago, shortly after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, he literally shifted his focus to the region of Texas he calls “home” …the rugged, oak-studded expanse of Lavaca County and its surrounding terrain … The Bohemian Homeland,
Larry Bozka’s work will also be on display for the Spotlight on the Arts.
An afternoon reception from 2 to 4 is open to the public for free. Bozka’s artworks will be available for purchase.
