Thanksgiving Poetry and Pose

The Hallettsville Writers’ Group will be featured at Hallet Oak Gallery’s Lunch and Learn on Saturday, November 5, 2016, 11:30 a.m.  – 1:00 p.m.  They will be reading poetry and prose on the themes of Thanksgiving, Gratitude, and Appreciation, in keeping with the season.  You’ll hear about an epiphany experienced over a fried chicken dinner when chickens were purchased whole, not in parts, and potatoes were mashed, not creamed.  You’ll meet, Thelma, a woman whose love of children stayed with one of those little girls throughout her life.  You’ll meet Gratitude and Appreciation, the daughters of Industry and Mercy in a poetic personification of character traits.  And, there’ll be more.

TIckets for lunch and program are $15.00 if purchased before November 3 or by noon the latest on the 4th.  Tickets purchased after that date or at the door will be $20.00and bring your own lunch.
