Lunch and Learn: “Creating Photos that Leap Off the Page and How a Camera Works” Presented by Mieko Mahi

Hallet Oak Gallery Founder and Industrial Artist, Mieko Mahi will be the guest speaker for its “Lunch and Learn” on Saturday, April 9, 2016 presenting “Creating Photos that Leap off the Page and How a Camera Works”.

Most people don’t associate art with the oil and gas industry. But once you’ve seen the dramatic work of Mieko Mahi, you might think otherwise. Mieko’s 25 years of experience includes six years at Marathon Oil Company, a major, fully-integrated international oil company. Her extensive energy industry work includes photographing offshore drilling rigs, productions platforms, pipeline construction and fabrication. She has photographed onshore drilling and production operations, refineries, pipeline construction, and natural gas liquids plants. Her human interest work encompasses large groups, studio portraits, executive portraiture, and candids of people at work.

Registration for the “Lunch and Learn” is 11:00-11:30 AM on Saturday, April 9th. The fee of $20 includes a boxed lunch. Persons may preregister by April 7 for $15 for individual tickets or $12 each for two or more tickets. Persons registering after 11:30 are welcome but must bring their own lunch, and the fee is $20.
