Friends of Hallettsville Downtown Revitalization

Every first Tuesday of the month, please join the Friends of Hallettsville Downtown Revitalization (FHDR) for the seventh meeting on the square at the Hallet Oak Gallery, K & S Building, 115 N. Main Street. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. We will serve tea and pastries. Mieko Mahi, Executive Director of the Friends of Hallettsville Downtown Revitalization – a nonprofit organization will host the group. The meeting will end promptly at six o’clock p.m.
The April meeting will discuss the ways to enhance and support the beautification project underway coordinated by the welcoming committee for Texas Society of Architects for the June 10th and 11th J. Reily Gordon Contest and Conference. The Hallettsville planning committee members are Gayle Bludau, Mieko Mahi, Cindy Renken, Lois S. Weiss, Tammy Woytek, and Alice Vickers. The organization will explore ways to energize the community and revitalize downtown Hallettsville.

Mission
Our mission is to provide a vibrant center in downtown Hallettsville for people to explore and enjoy cultural arts and entertainment. As a non-profit foundation, we’re divided into two parts: the Hallet Oak Gallery and Friends of Hallettsville Downtown Revitalization.
Located in a historic, Kahn & Stanzel building, the Hallet Oak Gallery sells an array of artworks from more than 20 regional and international artists. The gallery regularly provides meet-and-greets with the artists and offers numerous educational workshops, classes, evening lectures, musical events, and movies pertaining to the arts.
Our Friends of Hallettsville Downtown Revitalization organization is dedicated to preserve the history of the town through guided tours, cultural activities, and fund-raising community events
Vision
To offer the people of Hallettsville and surrounding Lavaca County a lively new home to experience, explore, and enjoy cultural arts. The long-term result of this effort will be to deepen the community’s appreciation for art and culture.
