Where are you located? Hallet Oak Gallery is located across the Lavaca County Courthouse, Downtown Hallettsville.

When did Hallet Oak Gallery form? 2015.

When did we become a non-profit? 2016.

Why did we become a non-profit? To expand to serve the community.

What year was the building built? 1890.

Who owns the building? Dr. Betty J. Edwards.

Who sponsors and supports this? Individuals, Small businesses, City of Hallettsville, Texas Commission of the Arts, and Dr. Betty J. Edwards.

What programs would you like to add to the Gallery: Day of the Dead, Cinco de Mayo, Chinese New Year, an International Festival working with Schools,  adding programs and improvements for students with disabilities.

Why would the public visit the Gallery?

  • Intimate Atmosphere! Opportunities to meet other creative persons:
    musicians, authors, artists! Let them unleash the creative person in you!
  • Free parking, free internet, free events and refreshments! We offer books, supplies, video – all free to view on site!
  • We have art for sale, donated vintage jewelry to offer, art kits to buy! Now available.
  • Scavenger hunts for all ages – Free prizes on completion of hunt.

1) One Stop Art Center

Family-friendly, a place downtown to see and experience art:

Free entry: Open Hours: 10 to 2 – Mon – Thur and 9 to 5 Fri and Sat

Daily: scavenger hunts, art projects, books, piano, and more!

2) Free Exhibits  

Free spotlight reception openings:

Features established and emerging artist, including students.

3) Outreach Programs

Includes nominal entry fees for learning:

  • Music Night – 6 times a year, depending on funding.
  • Sip & Paint –  4 times a year.
  • Lunch & Learns –  3 times a year, depending on funding.
  • June Photography Workshops & Tours for youths and adults.
  • Summer Art Camp for ages 8 to 11.
