“Saving Old Iron – Getting Cars back on the Road”
Hallet Oak Gallery “Lunch and Learn”
October 3, 2015 @ 11:00 am – 1:00 pm

Come along for the ride Saturday, October 3rd and enjoy Geoff Smith’s presentation about “Saving Old Iron—Getting Cars Back on the Road.” Owner of Smitty’s Speed Shop in Pearland, Geoff will talk about rooting out old vehicles and why it is important to save them before rust and neglect consume them. He specializes in turning old cars and trucks into viable street driven hot rod machines, complete with smiles and lots of fun. “I work on cars and trucks from the 20’s through the 60’s,” he says, and “love to wake up cars that have been asleep too long.”

As a special treat for his audience, Geoff will be arriving at the gallery on October 3rd in his 1929 Ford Model-A roadster. Come for a close-up look before Goeff’s spirited and entertaining presentation. There will be plenty of Q&A about what is involved and a delicious boxed lunch to boot!

As owner of Wildwood Custom, Geoff also designs and builds unique gates, furniture, and accessories from reclaimed wood and/or iron. “I have a passion for History, and melding old items and new materials in a seamless design is very satisfying.” To learn more, see www.smittyspeed.com
