MUSIC NIGHT AT THE HOG
JD Wellfed & Guest: Chuck Hawthorne
December 14, 2015 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Tickets $10.00 or $8 for Seniors
Popular South Central Texas singer and songwriter JD Wellfed (John Reeves) of Sweet Home will lead the fourth in a series of musical evenings Monday night at the Hallet Oak Gallery. Featured guest Chuck Hawthorne, a veteran with 21 years of military service, developed his voice in Texas and on board the USS Iwo Jima. He sings about people he knew in his hometown, on numerous deployments, and many points in between. In the relaxed atmosphere at the HOG the performers interact with the audience, entertaining questions and sharing insight into their music.
JD Wellfed began writing poems in junior high and songs in his early twenties. “Anything and everything” inspires his music, which draws on folk, bluegrass, and a plethora of other influences. JD founded the Sweet Home Music Fest, which gave artists a platform for original music while raising funds for several community causes.
Music Night at the HOG is held the 2nd Monday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Bring your own drinks. Ice and cups provided. Checks and cash accepted for $10 door fee.
